How we develop our content

Parents should be able to see where an explanation comes from and what it can—and can’t—tell them.

Start with an everyday question

We’re building FuelFriend around questions about school lunches, meals at home, food around sport and conversations with children. We aim to explain the reasoning behind a practical idea, rather than give a rule without context.

Keep the source close

Website learning examples link to their original sources, including public guidance from Health Canada, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the USDA. A source link does not mean that organization endorses FuelFriend.

For new guides, we’re recording the intended audience, sources, the date we checked them and any limits that matter. Guidance for one age or activity level should not quietly become a recommendation for every child.

Be clear about review

The current website contains general educational examples and guided product demonstrations. We have not yet appointed a pediatric nutrition professional to review FuelFriend’s content. We won’t label material “clinically reviewed” or present a professional advisory team before that review exists.

Research work in progress is not the same as a released recommendation. Personalized guidance is planned for the future and is not available on this website.

Explain Freddie’s role

Freddie follows supported conversation paths on this website. Typed questions help find a topic; they do not start a live AI conversation. The examples don’t diagnose conditions, set a child’s calorie targets or verify allergy safety. Individual medical and feeding concerns belong with a qualified professional who knows your child.

Correct and improve

If an explanation is unclear or you think a source is wrong or out of date, email support@fuelfriend.app. Please include the page and the wording you’re asking about.
